About Our Team

Who Are We?

Aluminum Falcon Robotics is a non-profit organization based in Groton, CT with a mission to help aid the growth of STEAM by introducing middle school and high school kids to science, technology, engineering, arts, and math through a hands-on mentorship approach.

Together, leading industry professionals, coupled with school faculty and supporting parents, help students develop competitive robots which are then used to compete around the New England area and the United States; the side effect is the knowledge, love, and passion these students gain for STEAM related fields.

Anatomy of an FRC Team

Our team is divided into five major subteams:

  • Business/Communications
  • Design
  • Mechanical
  • Electrical
  • Software

More Than Robots

More than just a robotics team, we endeavor to teach our students lifelong skills and prepare them for their future careers. Technical skills as well as soft skills, including communication and leadership, are learned through our program.

Beyond our high school students, Team 2168 values our community and wishes to help it strive. From workshops to a week-long summer camp, we provide educational opportunities to younger students looking to dip their toes into STEM. You can also find us at events like Groton City Day, showing the community what we’re all about.

Impact

Community service is a very important part of the team to every student involved. Students on Team 2168 are dedicated to outreach in all forms, whether that’s volunteering at our LEGO robotics summer camp, or helping us organize food and blanket drives for those in need in our area.
