The Aluminum Falcons are a FIRST Robotics Competition team. Our mission is to cultivate interest, understanding, and skill in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. We promote STEAM using robotics in a fun and engaging way to inspire youth to become innovators and leaders of tomorrow.

Hands-On Learning

On 2168, students learn by doing. Prepare to get your hands dirty working with machines, or stretch your fingers before diving head-first into code.

Soft Skills

Students grow from timid, hesitant newcomers to confident leaders and community figures. We value soft skills just as much as technical skills.

Community Service

Get in your volunteer hours with 2168’s abundance of community service opportunities. More than just a robotics team, we love to give back to our community and help it thrive.

Dedicated Mentors

Students work side-by-side with mentors who wish to help them meet their full potential. Learn from professionals and gain invaluable teamwork skills.

Community Outreach

Students have plenty of opportunities to practice their public speaking skills as we reach out to our community with various informative presentations and educational workshops.

Students residing in Groton can apply to join our team – no experience required! Any student from Grasso, Marine Science High School, and Fitch High School are welcome to apply! Applications close at the end of October.

When Do Applications Open?

Student applications open in September every year. We accept mentor applications year-round.

When Do Applications Close?

Student applications close at the end of October.

Who Can Apply?

High school students from Fitch, Marine Science, and Grasso, residing in Groton can apply to our team. Any adult can apply to be a mentor.

When Will I Hear Back?

Our Coach Sherri will reach out from a span of days to weeks whether you have been accepted. If you live in Groton, you will certainly be accepted into the team.
